How viral ads have exploded into the mainstream

With roller skating babies, dancing royal look-alikes and the fragrant Old Spice Guy popping up everywhere, web surfers can't avoid viral advertisements these days -- but do they actually work?

As our viewing habits shift online, ad execs have followed us; pouring more money into internet banners and pop-ups in an effort to snare our spending dollars.

Online media analysis firm Visible Measures says there was a 180% leap in viral advertising campaigns from 2009 to 2010 in the United States. Read more>>>>
