Medio Systems Names Prabuddha Biswas Senior Vice President of Engineering

SEATTLE--(June 2, 2011)-- Medio Systems, a leading mobile Internet software and predictive analytics provider, today announced that Prabuddha Biswas has joined the company as senior vice president, engineering. Biswas becomes part of the company's senior management team and will be responsible for leading the engineering team and guiding the company’s technology development. Biswas will report to president and CEO, Rob Lilleness.

Biswas brings over 25 years of engineering and research experience to Medio. Most recently, he was a director at VMware, where he led the mobile, web applications and middleware technology teams. Previously, he served as VP of engineering at Smartdesktop, a division of Pi Corporation, which was acquired by EMC Corporation in March 2008. Prior to that, Biswas served as director of technology at Amazon.com, driving online demand generation and worldwide marketing. He previously served as director of software development at Oracle Corporation, where he led software development for the company's location-based services technology and developed a patented algorithm to efficiently manage the Oracle buffer cache.

Biswas holds seven patents in the areas of location-aware, mobile application infrastructure, I/O, data management and file system caching. He has contributed to IEEE, ACM and other prestigious publications and journals and plays an active role in several professional societies. He holds a master’s degree and doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Biswas received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
